When he became the first out state legislator in Mississippi, Fabian Nelson became a beacon for change in a state notoriously against equality for all. The Mississippi native says he learned the true meaning of service by watching his parents, who were both politically active in their southern community. He’s also a dedicated foster parent and committed to giving young children a safe and secure home. The real estate entrepreneur-turned-politician is set to take office in January.
