THE GRIOT HONORS: JAMES EARL HARDY AND B-BOY BLUES, 8.27.20

A two-hour special virtual multimedia experience in celebration of the 25th anniversary of “B-Boy Blues” by James Earl Hardy, the legacy of Black gay literature, and excellence in the arts.

NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY: AN EVENING WITH TWO PULITZER PRIZE WINNERS, 10.11.20

A two-hour special virtual multimedia experience in celebration of National Coming Out Day sharing inspiring stories about the Black LGBTQI+ experience and excellence in the arts honoring the poet Jericho Brown and playwright Michael R. Jackson. 

THE NATIVE SON AWARDS: A CELEBRATION OF BLACK GAY MEN WHO ARE MAVERICKS, 11.19.20

The NATIVE SON Awards virtually honors Black gay/queer men who have broken barriers professionally and who have become firsts in their area of expertise. the award celebrates excellence in the Black gay/queer community while highlighting men who are leaders in politics, entertainment, business, the arts and culture, and sports but who have literally lived in the shadows—unknown, unseen, and unsung.

THE NATIVE SON 100: RECOGNIZING THE MOVERS AND SHAKERS OF THE YEAR, 12.16.20

NATIVE SON recognizes the Black gay/queer men who had an impact in the year through their work, creativity, activism, intention, authenticity, courage, and excellence. We salute the brothers who created change by their mere presence and purpose. This list will be digital on nativeson.us and amplified socially.

 

BLACK GAY WELLNESS FORUM, 3.2021 AND 10.2021

This virtual experience will curate thought leaders, experts, and healthcare professionals in health, wellness, and fitness to educate, empower, and enlighten the Black gay/queer community mind, body, and spirit. Conversations, workshops, and virtual workouts will help us be stronger together.

BLACK GAY LEADERSHIP FORUM, 9.23.2021

A virtual convening of Black gay/queer business leaders to discuss identity, inclusion, and influence in corporate America. This invitation-only event will focus on professional development, career advancement, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, data, and innovation in technology.
