Ezra Ezzard

Theatre has always been a bastion of expression and expansive imagery. Ezra Ezzard knows this all too well. As the newly appointed Managing Director of Crossroads Theatre Company, he’s continuing a Black storytelling legacy that has long existed from within its famed walls. Crossroads, established in 1978 by by Ricardo Khan (Founding Artistic Director) and L. Kenneth Richardson won the Tony Award in 1999 as the “outstanding regional theatre in America.” Ezzard is no stranger to uplifting great stories. Through his past roles at Britbox and BBC Studios, he’s marketed some of Britain’s best content, such as DoctorWho. Shifting his focus to Crossroads in New Brunswick, New Jersey, also allows him to cultivate his own entrepreneurial pursuits. This year, he launched a media production and distribution company Artification. Since earning his BFA from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater program at Fordham University, Ezzard has always strived to ensure Black art and culture is nurtured with care. Thankfully he's being obedient to the assignment. — J.S.M.
