Rashad Robinson

Rashad Robinson's career has been focused on visibility, equality, and advocacy for marginalized people. He was drawn to advocacy at a young age. Taking a note from his parents’ book, Robinson became involved with his local NAACP chapter becoming one his first steps into his career for fighting change. Since then, Robinson has held leadership positions at Right to Vote and GLAAD. His most recent role as President of Color of Change, the progressive civil rights advocacy nonprofit and the nation’s largest online organization, has been transformative during the eras of Black Lives Matter, George Floyd, and the 2024 Election. Under Robinson COC has implemented campaigns that built power for Black communities and push for solutions for racial justice, criminal justice, voting freedom, economic justice, and advocating against white nationalism. He along with Alphonso David and Emil Wilbekin organized the Black Gay Men for Kamala Call to educate and enlighten our community during the 2024 Presidential Election. Robinson is stepping down from COC to pursue new work focusing on the intersections of narrative, culture, and power. The advocacy continues. — J.S.M.
