Chi Ossé

New York City’s political landscape is shifting — and part of that change is thanks to Chi Ossé. The 27-year-old went from an organizer to the first Gen Z council member for New York City’s 36th District. During his first term, the New Yorker made waves by passing legislation to ensure that the Big Apple’s nightlife establishments carry anti-overdose medication within them, as well as a legislative package to tackle the city’s rat problem. An advocate for democratic socialism and an ally to NYC mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, Ossé’s politics are people-centered, focusing on public safety and housing insecurity. New Yorkers saw this mission firsthand when Ossé passed the FARE Act, ending tenants having to pay broker fees for apartments found without a broker. And if his GQ feature in September of this year is any hint, it's clear his next campaign will be done in style.
