JAMAL SIMS
As a choreographer, director, and producer, Jamal Sims is his authentic himself in an industry that often times tries to dim your light as a gay man. But this year, he celebrated alongside his Encanto choreography creatives when the blockbuster Disney hit won both a Golden Globe and Oscar. Sims’ list of accomplishments date back to the VH1 megahit series RuPaul’s Drag Race as well as the celebrity edition of the competition show. His work will close out the year when the 30th anniversary celebration of Beauty and the Beast airs on ABC. Starring multi-award winning singer-songwriter H.E.R. and Josh Groban, Sims serves as choreographer and executive producer for the live special. —K.M.
