Black boy magic is being made at Sony Pictures thanks to film executive Jonathan Gist, who has spearheaded campaigns for some of Black Hollywood’s biggest movies including Girls Trip, Green Book and Queen & Slim. In May, he became the as Executive Director of Global Intersectional Marketing. Prior to joining Sony, Gist served as the VP of Consumer Marketing and Brand Strategy at BET Networks. There he developed and executed campaigns and brand initiatives in support of shows by Tyler Perry, Lena Waithe, as well as the 53rd NAACP Image Awards. When Gist isn’t creating behind-the-scenes, he steps into the spotlight as co-host of the podcast BLK On The Scene, a love letter to all things Black entertainment. —K.M.
