Deon Hinton

Deon Hinton’s images exude a sense of wonder and romance, truly making his prints poetry in motion. The 25-year-old self-taught photographer, art director, creative director, writer, and influencer uses cameras to build his own confidence and inner world. Early on, Hinton would prop up his Android phone on piles of clothes or take photos with an old Nikon D3100. Those images marked the beginning of his artistic journey, which led him to New York City. He’s since photographed Black queer legends—Grammy-winning DJ Kaytranada and Tony Award and Golden Globe nominee Jeremy Pope—both for the cover of Numero Netherlands. He also acquired brand deals with luxury fashion houses Loro Piana and Versace, headphones and loudspeaker company Bowers & Wilkins, and the world’s oldest candlemaker, Trudon. Additionally, he’s art directed campaigns for Tag Heuer, Gucci Beauty, Range Rover, David Yurman and Cartier. Hinton's poetic vision is shifting the way the world see brands and ourselves. — J.S.M.
