If more people like Tylik McMillian are leading the way, then the future of our political landscape is in good hands. The political strategist and civil rights advocate is steadily mobilizing the next generation of civic leaders to engage with our nation’s political framework as the youth coalitions director for the Democratic National Committee. His work awarded him a seat at the table, when it came to working on the Harris-Walz campaign. Campaigns aside, McMillian is dedicating his time and energy towards eradicating systemic barriers hindering communities of color and advocating for social and economic equity by educating lawmakers in the White House and C-suite executives on Wall Street. Thankfully, McMillian’s efforts don’t go unnoticed. The North Carolina A&T alum was appointed to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s National Racial Equity Initiative Task Force, named one of InClub Magazine’s 30 under 30 and became a Black: Future. With the historic 2024 election behind us, McMillian’s efforts to bring Gen Z to the polls won’t be forgotten. — J.S.M.
