As the pandemic ransacked the world in 2020, Troy Berry and Brian Clark were like the rest of us, stuck at home finding ways to maximize their time. What sprung forth was an idea for a vibey haven for Black queer and trans people. A year later, they opened <a href="https://www.queerty.com/black-gay-owned-bars-restaurants-20241122" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.queerty.com/black-gay-owned-bars-restaurants-20241122">4West Lounge in Harlem,</a> centering the community as the neighborhood historically once did. 4West Lounge quickly became a mainstay and events space for many Black LGBTQ+ folks looking for a good time. But Harlem isn’t the only city to get the 4West treatment. In 2024, the founders expanded into the Dirty South, opening up a 4West location in Atlanta.
