The Upshaws actor Jermelle Simon and content creator Obio Jones are truly the perfect match. A fateful DM from Jones led to a friendship between the two that blossomed into so much more. In 2024, Simon publicly came out as gay and shared with the world that he was in a relationship with Jones. Since then, the internet can’t get enough of these two lovebirds, with Jones and Simon standing as a beacon of Black queer love with each post. In May 2025, the couple took their relationship to the next level by announcing their engagement in an exclusive with People magazine and then sharing their love story in Essence. In June, their love story was featured on Black Love. In December, the couple shared even more exciting news – announcing that they had gotten married in October of this year.
