TOMMY ATKINS

As co-founder of the Hearst Black Culture organization, Tommy J. Atkins, an HBCU Alumni (Howard University) and Senior Marketing Manager at Hearst Magazines, sprouted a fire of Black voices, uniting us to celebrate our power, our poise and our continuous effort to evolve the culture at all cost. The rising talent has brought together many Black leaders, celebrities, journalists, editors, and creators to showcase our vast and wide experiences through all industries. In 2022, he curated Celebrating Black Style exploring topics like BIPOC designers in fashion, Black hair, and representation in media — the candid conversation with Gayle King and Tracee Ellis Ross was one for the books. Atkins is truly a one-to-watch as a leader in the media world. —E.F.
