Trell Thomas is a firm believer in the power of manifestation. “I think manifestation is taking yourself to a place before you get there,” Thomas told The Grio. He has been intentional on a number of things in his young life that align with his mission: to empower people of color and spread positivity through Black excellence. As founder and creator of the Black Excellence Brunch, Thomas said his original idea was to create a safe space for Black people where they could feel more worthy, more whole, and build each other up. This year, Thomas expanded his scope and served as Executive Producer of the four part docuseries Profiled: The Black Man. The show, which aired on Discovery+ and OWN, examined the long-standing stereotypes surrounding Black men in America and was hosted by Tristan “Mack” Wilds. —K.M.
