COLMAN DOMINGO
There are certainly no limits for award-winning actor Colman Domingo. In September, the actor, director and singer picked up his first Emmy for his supporting role in the HBO Max hit Euphoria. “This is a huge boon for not only African American men who look like me, but also for people who live in queer spaces,” said Domingo to People after winning. A few weeks later, the multi-hyphenate shared his personal coming-out story to his fans, encouraging them by saying: “Today may not be your time to do it, but maybe tomorrow. You will find your tribe.” The multi-talented Domingo is also receiving critical acclaim for New Moon — an animated short film which he co-wrote and co-produced — and was recently added to the Oscar Shortlist potentially queuing him up for an Academy Award. If that's not enough, expect Domingo to receive more praise in 2023 for telling another important queer story when he portrays Civil Rights hero Bayard Rustin in the highly anticipated Netflix film Rustin — directed by the legendary George C. Wolfe — next year. —K.M.
