At the United States Department of State, Darius Edgerton serves as Senior Advisor for External Affairs in the Office of the Representative for Racial Equity and Justice. As an undergrad, he studied at Hampton University before going on to get a master’s degree from American University. Edgerton has shared he’s passionate about finding solutions that propel businesses forward and he’s doing so by lending a much needed voice in American foreign policy. He’s worked in all branches of government and most notably played a critical role in the planning and logistics of former President Obama’s U.S.-Africa leaders summit in 2014. Edgerton has been represented in the National Security Out List and noted that one of his goals continues to be diversifying the national security spaces by encouraging more Black, brown, queer and young people to be part of the conversation. —K.M.
