Guillaume Diop

French ballet dancer Guillaume Diop influences the modern vanguard by becoming the first Black artist to be ranked “Danser Étoile” at the Paris Opera Ballet—the ballet’s highest ranking reward for prestigious excellence. It translates to "star dancer" and is the equivalent of the English title "principal dancer". Since leading several performances with his artistry and charisma, Diop has distinguished himself even further in the world beyond theater. His art of dance, has built a direct pipeline to the fashion industry. This year, Diop made his runway debut at the Miu Miu fashion show and appeared on the cover of Icon magazine and Financial Times HTSI. Off stage, his talents are well sought-after for global moments like Vogue World Paris preview of the 2024 Olympics. You can find the burgeoning icon dipping his toe into pop culture too as a guest judge on Drag Race France. Inclinez-vous. — G.E.
