Branden Jacobs-Jenkins

He explores the complex dynamics of interpersonal relationships, family legacy, and the power of embracing one’s identity in acclaimed plays such as An Octoroon, Appropriate, War, Everybody, The Comeuppance, Neighbors, and Purpose. Branden Jacobs-Jenkins has earned prestigious accolades like the MacArthur Fellowship, an Obie Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a coveted spot on TIME100’s Most Influential People of 2025. Jacob-Jenkins is clearly a winner. He also received the 2024 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play for Appropriate. And this year, he soared to even higher heights. Jacobs-Jenkins earned his second Tony Award, this time for Best Play for Purpose. The play was so powerful it also received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
